Kevin Gregg has been shut down with soreness in left knee. Matt Linstrom is their closer in grooming, but it may be a matchup situation. Pick up Linstrom if you need saves.

Ron Washington has proclaimed Frank Francisco as his closer in Texas. Fransisco is a solid pickup in all leagues.
In Baltimore, Jim Johnson looks to get some save opps. In his last few outings Johnson has not allowed a run, but has allowed at least on hit in every game he’s pitched since July 29th.

Don’t read too much into this. Brandon Lyon was getting a scheduled day off. Besides Rauch gave up a homer to Jody Gerut and has allowed 4 earner runs in his last 4 outings. Granted, Lyon has struggled of late too (7 ER in last 4). We have to consider what changing closers on a [...]

Wheeler got the nod in the 9th last night against the Angels while Balfour was used in the 6th. Right now it looks as though Wheeler will get first crack, but keep monitoring the situation as Maddon has mixed it up before with Percival on the DL.
